Legal Agreements
Here is a sample contract between Full-Time Contributors and Curl Publishing Incorporated (Please note that each contract will be tailored to the individual needs of each writer):
1. A Full-Time Contributor is defined as a writer who contributes no less than four (4) articles per week, beginning on Monday and ending on Sunday, containing no less than seven-hundred-fifty (750) words of original content per article with all sources properly accredited and sited.
2. Each Full-Time Contributor as defined above will be entitled to an equal distribution of any and all profits generated from http://thepigeonpost.org with the President of Curl Publishing Incorporated, Todd Curl, to be guaranteed twenty percent (20%) of said profits if the number of Full-Time Contributors exceeds four (4), otherwise Mr. Curl will be counted as a Full-Time Contributor given an equal share of profits among the other Full-Time Contributors.
3. If a Full-Time Contributor submits fewer than four (4) articles per week of seven-hundred-fifty (750) words or more per article over a twenty-eight (28) day period, or twelve-thousand words (12000), the total number of words written will be factored against the minimum, with that percentage below the minimum being re-distributed equally among the other Full-Time Contributors.
4. Curl Publishing Incorporated agrees to pay the Full-Time Contributor their profit share within two weeks of receiving payment through any source of revenue, including, but not limited to: advertising payments generated from http://thepigeonpost.org. Full-time Contributors will have the right to review any and all financial documents pertaining to Curl Publishing Incorporated if so desired.
5. Curl Publishing Incorporated agrees to make every reasonable effort to make available to the Full-Time Contributor, the final, edited version of the article while there is still time to make changes. In the event of a disagreement over the final form of the article, the Full-Time Contributor reserves the right to withdraw his/her name from the article without prejudicing the agreed-upon share of revenue.
6. The Full-Time Contributor guarantees that the articles submitted will not contain material that is consciously libelous or defamatory.
7. The Full-Time Contributor will maintain the intellectual property rights (copyright) of their work during their contract period with Curl Publishing Incorporated and after they end their contract with Curl Publishing Incorporated for any reason. Full-Time contributors will also be guaranteed: the right to attribution, the right to have a work published anonymously, and the right to the work’s integrity.
8. The Full-Time contributor reserves the right to sever their contract with Curl Publishing Incorporated at any time and will retain all rights to any work previously published on http://thepigeonpost.org and can request that all work previously published on http://thepigeonpost.org be removed in a timely manner by Curl Publishing Incorporated.
9. The Full-Time Contributor reserves the right to re-publish their work on another website so long as Curl Publishing Incorporated is recognized as the Publisher of the work being re-submitted.
10. The Full-Time contributor will be classified as an independent contractor and be given the proper 1099 documentation that is their sole responsibility to file.
